MY STORY
P91 was born from a life of service, sacrifice, and faith.
I served in the U.S. Coast Guard before continuing my career in law enforcement. Years of responding to suffering, violence, and death changed me. I became distant, disconnected, and lost sight of who I was.
Then an injury on duty changed everything.
He broke my body so I could find my heart.
What felt like an ending became the beginning of a deeper walk with God. Through the trials that followed, I learned that my story wasn't just about what happened to me.
It was about what God was doing through it.
Pray. Move. Prepare.
Forged in Service
Gaining Resilience by Serving Others
A Book by S. A. Popp
From service in the U.S. Coast Guard to law enforcement, these true experiences reveal how duty, pressure, and hardship can forge resilience, deepen faith, and reshape a life.
A book about what happens after you leave the call of duty behind.
After the waters, the long nights, and the moments that leave scars no one sees.
In Forged in Service, S. A. Popp shares his experiences in the U.S. Coast Guard and law enforcement, what he saw, what he felt, and how he survived the weight of it all. Short, honest, and deeply personal, this book is a window into the cost of service, the struggles that follow, and the path to finding strength, faith, and resilience.
It is a story for anyone who has faced the unseen battles of life and for those searching for a way forward.
Why P91 Exists
P91 didn't begin as a ministry.
I originally set out to build a security consulting organization focused on helping churches and faith-based organizations become more prepared and secure.
But the more I worked on it, the more I realized something:
Security wasn't the whole mission.
I had spent years learning how to protect others while neglecting some of the battles within myself. I knew how to respond when things went wrong, but I was learning that preparation had to go deeper.
Preparation isn't just knowing what to do when something goes wrong. It's becoming the kind of person who is ready to serve when the moment comes.
That became P91.
PRAY. MOVE. PREPARE.
Psalm 91 reminds us where our strength comes from and why we prepare.
PRAY
Because our strength begins with God.
MOVE
Because we are called to care for what we've been given.
PREPARE
Because we want to be ready when the moment comes.
I still hurt. I still have limitations. I still have hard days.
But I move.
I pray.
I prepare.
Not because I am invincible.
Because I want to be there when it matters.
For my wife.
For my children.
For the people God puts in my path.
That's P91.
Pray. Move. Prepare.
Shielded in Motion.
